Lifting and Slinging Training (Theory)

Lifting and slinging training (theory) module is a half day theoretical course; It is aimed at any employees or managers involved in any aspects of lifting operations requiring a level of knowledge and competence. Up to 15 delegates can be trained per session.

The content includes:
  • Legislation (HSWA 1974, LOLER, PUWER)
  • Risk assessment / Planning of Lifts
  • Load Assessment
This then leads onto safe use, safe working load calculations and pre use inspection of:
  •      Chain Slings
  •      Synthetic Slings
  •      Wire Rope Slings
  •      Shackles
  •      Hooks
  •      Eyebolts
  •      Chain Blocks
Completion of this module is a pre-requisite before any practical training can be offered to ensure a theoretical base level of competence.
